Protocols of the Marae and three parts in the Marae.

PROTOCOLS OF THE MARAE/THREE PARTS IN THE MARAE
  1. We must be welcomed before entering the Marae it is a Maori tradition it is called Powhiri in Maori.
  2. We must take our shoes off before going inside the Marae before entering the sacred place for all Maori’s
  3. No smoking or drinking in the Marae because it is an important place for the Maori people.
  4. We must do a hongi at the end of everything.
  5. We must say a big thank you at the end.

Marae-Hui

Who goes to a Hui- the maori people mostly goes to a hui.

Who is supposed to be in a Hui- A Pakeha,  is a  New  Zealander  who is opposite from a Maori is likely to come to a Hui.

Where is a Hui held - At a Marae.

What is a Hui -  A Hui is when people have meeting or gatherings.

Why are Hui held -Hui are held to discuss business and important  stuff such as setting up the rules (the protocols).
